I’m sandra and I combine making ceramics with writing and photography. I’m a German native speaker and choose to live in Italy as a place where I feel inspired and touched by it’s nature.
My journey with the making of functional and decorative ceramics started in 2019 and became a part of my everyday life besides traveling in Italy and working for several projects: from Emilia-Romagna (Appenino Tosco-Emiliano) to Toscana (all along the coast from Lucca to the island of Monte Argentario) and Veneto, close to Treviso and Venezia, where I live now and create new ceramic objects.
While wandering from 2021 to 2023, I had my wheel in the car to be able to work from wherever I was. Luckily, I got help from various people to also fire my objects “on the road”.
I work mainly on creating pieces that show off natural flaws: they occur through the handmade process with the 4 elements of earth, water, air and fire.
The world of ceramic and its alchemy is an infinite source. My pieces range from black clay with white contrast elements to colorful engobe daily-use objects; combining handmade and wheelthrown techniques.
